<p><i>English will follow</i></p> <p>Le BEI a complété son enquête indépendante sur les circonstances entourant un événement survenu à Salluit le 5 juillet 2019 au cours duquel un civil de 48 ans est décédé lors d'une intervention policière du Corps de police régional de Kativik (KRPF).</p> <p>L’enquête démontre les faits suivants :</p> <p>Le 5 juillet 2019, vers 22h30, plusieurs appels sont faits au KRPF concernant une bagarre impliquant plusieurs personnes dans une résidence de Salluit. Deux policiers se présentent sur place et aperçoivent quelqu’un devant la maison, qui traine par les jambes un homme qui semble inconscient et saigne abondamment à la tête. Two police officers arrived on the scene and saw a person in front of the house dragging a man by his legs who appeared unconscious and was bleeding heavily from the head. The officers quickly exited their vehicle to intercept the assailant and restrain him.</p> <p class="text-justify">While attempting to handcuff the assailant, the police vehicle began moving slowly on its own and ran over the back of the victim, who was still lying face down on the ground.</p> <p class="text-justify">The officers assisted the man, who was then transported to the health center.
