National Indigenous Peoples Day is much more than a date to mark on the calendar. It is an opportunity to highlight the stories, knowledge, and languages that have existed on these lands for millennia.
At the Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI), we recognize that Indigenous diversity is an integral part of our collective history and deserves a vibrant place.
We believe that learning – truly learning – begins with listening. Listening to elders, artists, community leaders, and the youth who carry the voices of tomorrow. It is a concrete step towards better understanding and relationships founded on respect.
On this National Indigenous Peoples Day, the BEI would like to thank the Centre Mamuk, which opened its doors to our liaison officer with First Nations and Inuit, as well as all the Indigenous organizations that collaborate with us on a daily basis.
